Considered a reference in internationalization and the Future of Retail on an international scale, Adolfo Fernández is Global Product Lead for Shopping at Google. As Global Product Lead, Adolfo spearheads the commercialization strategy and operations for Shopping, driving strategic partnerships and new initiatives forward, overseeing the performance and development of brand solutions for the Small and Medium Business (SMB) segment, leading a global team of regional product experts, and partnering with product and engineering teams to drive product changes and create go-to-market strategies to improve product adoption and Retail growth.
Adolfo brings a vast experience from the world of business development and program management with a proven track record of initiating and successfully driving global business opportunities in the digital media ecosystem. Thought leader on sales and acquisition strategy, Adolfo joined Google as Business Development Manager for Spain & Portugal in 2015, where he led the customer acquisition strategy and operations for the company in the region. In this position, he was awarded as Google’s Best Salesperson for two consecutive years. In early 2018, he took over the role of Global Program Manager to lead Google’s Internationalization advisory services for the mid-market segment.
Passionate about the role that technology is playing on corporate strategy and overall society, Adolfo takes pride in having spoken at +200 conferences including some of the most prestigious forums worldwide such as the United Nations, World Trade Organization, TNW Conference or FYFN. He has spoken in more than 30 countries and has been quoted in numerous publications, including El Mundo, Expansión, and El Economista, among others.
In addition to his role at Google, Adolfo regularly collaborates as a guest lecturer with some of the most prestigious educational organizations worldwide such as IE Business School, MIT Executive Education, and IESE among others. He conducts workshops and clinics on digital transformation, innovation, design thinking and employability in the technology industry.
Adolfo holds a Masters in International Management from IE Business School, as well as a BA in Business Administration from the University of Santiago de Compostela.
